With the new year quickly approaching, it's time to think about making your new year cards already. This is a simple adaptation of the previous 'Thank You' card, using a similar layout, but with completely different results.
Create this sparkly new year card to give to friends and family to welcome in 2008.
Simply glue a wide strip of patterned paper across the bottom of an A6 card. I have used this lovely lilac and aqua striped 8" x 8" scrapbook paper from Lakeland. Cut out lettering from holographic card for your greeting, which has been created by printing 'New Year' in reverse onto the reverse side of the card, then cut out with a craft knife.
Add a 'Happy' greeting silver peel-off sticker to the top left corner. Attach a length of holographic card strip across the join where the patterned paper meets the lilac card. Cut a circle from more holographic card and punch a star in the centre. Attach to the strip to create the effect of a hanging tag.
Punch six smaller silver stars from holgraphic card and decorate in lines of three (evenly spaced) across the top and bottom.
Finally, add '2008' in random black and white cardstock numbers from Lakeland.

Simply....Thank You

This is a simple fresh design I will be using for my friends Thank You cards this year. It has been created by simply combining patterned cardstock, ribbon and an embellishment with a coloured sticker word. This shows you need little product to create interesting cards - it's all in the layout. The simplicity of the design ensures these cards are easy to create in quantity - (Let's hope I receive some gifts now this year!)
My Tip of the Month: Remember that empty space is just as important on a layout as the embellishments themselves!
It's Almost Christmas!
I cannot believe it's almost Christmas! Time has flown. Well, I have been so busy writing cards, wrapping presents and decorating the tree, there has been little time for any personal crafting these last few days. However, thinking ahead I should be making a few 'Thank You' cards for all those people who have kindly put presents under the Christmas tree for me. (Yes...I have been peaking at the labels - don't you?) I think I'll make a start on those tonight and post them here shortly. Love to see anyone else's designs or hear ideas for your 'Thank You' cards. Is there a particular item or product you think would suit such cards - please share your ideas by commenting here.

Christmas Card Crazy!

Having worked on Christmas projects since February this year, by the time it came to making my own Christmas cards I had just about exhausted every avenue for Christmas designs. With black, white and bright pink colour schemes being the latest trend I decided to theme my designs around this. The basis for my cards was this gorgeous flocked wrapping papers from Paperchase (I just love that shop!)
Let me take this opportunity to wish all my readers (or just the two of you then!) a very Merry Christmas!
I would welcome any comments.
