Handmade Birthday Card

I came across these gorgeous backing papers recently in an old copy (September 2007) of Crafts Beautiful magazine and was so drawn to their eye-catching patterns, I just had to make something from them!

Here is my Birthday card created for my Mum's forthcoming birthday and featured here exclusively on my blog. The papers have been combined with paper flowers, inking techniques and BasicGrey chipboard letters.

I'm loving the worn look and pretty colour combination. It makes a welcome change from girlie pinks and chocolate browns. The papers were printed onto a good quality paper, which makes all the difference to the results of the overall effect. I hope Mum likes it!

*Please note, as always, these projects are designed by myself. They should not be copied, similar submitted to magazines or entered into competitions. The photos are also copyright to me and should not be taken from my blog without permission. Thanks for your understanding and abiding by the copyright laws.

Crafting For Men

Here's one for the men in your life...this is a simple altered art gift tag created from the gorgeous Paper Artsy Minis stamps - I just adore their vintage designs!
Stamped onto acetate, it has been lined with a suitably vintage effect paper, twill ribbon and German Scraps. I love the eclectic look. I hope my masculine recepient does too!

A similar project designed by myself was recently published in a national UK crafting magazine.

Happy Easter!

The Easter cards have proved popular this year and the free Easter floral digi-download is going down well (see previous posting). Hope you're all having a fabulous Easter! I'm off to do an egg hunt later today and scoff my scrummie choccie eggs...yummy!

Enjoy the day, whatever you do!

Easter Floral Cards using Free Printables

I hope you're liking my Easter cards (previous posts) created from my printables collection?
They were fun to design and I would love to see what you create from them!

On the Easter theme, I have also created some bottle caps printables which are available for free download. Here are a couple of cards that have been made using them to get your inspiration flowing.

They have been designed to either fit inside a bottle cap as seen on the dotty card or can be used by punching them out as stickers (if printed on self adhesive paper) or perhaps as a background design. Embellish your cards, scrapbook pages or other altered art projects using my designs.

Simply follow the link here and download the designs. All I ask is please send me a link to a photo of what you've made with them...I would love to see your creations.
Print as many times as you want for your own personal use and crafts projects. Please note: the copyright of the designs remains with me, the designer, but you can use these within projects that you sell. Please credit my website if you do. They cannot be used in commercial work or submitted to magazines for competitions or otherwise. Thank you for respecting the copyright laws.

Elegant Happy Easter Card

Create this flourishing Easter from the Easter Egg-stravaganza Collection as featured here.

You Will Need:
Easter Egg-stravaganza Collection
A5 Cream Card Blank
Peel Off Stickers - Gold Straight Lines
Decorative Edge Scalloped Scissors
Textured Cardstock - Lime green, dark green
Gold 1/8" Eyelets and Eyelet Setting Tool
A5 White Vellum
Sticky Foam Pads
Glue Stick
Scissors
Ruler
Computer, Printer and Photo Paper

Print the Easter Egg-stravaganza Corner Flourishes and Easter Egg-stravaganza background design onto good quality photo paper.

Cover the front of an A5 card with the background design. Place a sheet of vellum over the top to fade the background pattern and attach the vellum in place with gold eyelets positioned at the corners.

Apply lengths of straight line gold sticker around the edges of the card.

Cut out the 'Happy Easter' greeting. Mat onto lime green card and cut out with decorative scissors. Mat again onto dark green card and trim around. Glue onto the card and outline with more gold line stickers.

Cut out the Easter Egg corner flourish , leaving a slight white edge all round and attach to the bottom left corner of the card with foam pads.

Top Tip: You could even print out this Corner flourish design numerous times and layer up a decoupage of the group of eggs for alternative results!

The remaining flourish on the printables sheet has been left as an outline for you to colour in your own preferred colour scheme.

*Please note, as always, these designs are created for your own personal use. They should not be submitted to magazines or entered into competitions.
Thanks.
